Pune International Airport – New Integrated Terminal
Project Overview
The new integrated terminal at Pune International Airport is a landmark public infrastructure project in Maharashtra. Fine Glaze was engaged by Jindal Stainless Limited to execute stainless steel column cladding with MS framing across the departures and arrivals zones of the terminal building. The project involved cladding multiple large-diameter structural columns in mirror-polished and brushed SS sheets, mounted over precision-fabricated MS sub-frames. Both the visual quality of the finished columns and the durability of the cladding system were critical requirements given the 24x7 operational nature of the facility and the high passenger footfall.
The Challenge
Executing SS column cladding within a partially operational airport terminal with strict access controls, security clearance requirements, noise curfews, and rigorous material handling protocols at every shift.
Outcome
SS column cladding with MS framing completed to specification and handed over in 2023. The terminal is now operational and the SS columns are a prominent visual feature of the new integrated terminal. The project stands as a key public infrastructure reference for Fine Glaze.
